Hours and staff The library is open during school hours. The library manager (Shirley Lane) is employed between 9.00 and 12.30pm and again between 1pm and 2.30pm. Outside these hours, a student librarian or teacher can assist.

Poem of interest


Choosing a library book,
what shall it be?
A story of spacemen
Or children like me?

I look at the covers
All shining and new:
Green Fairy Book, Orange one,
Red, Green or Blue?

Oh! Here is a tale
Of a school just like ours,
With plants on the windows
And gardens of flowers.

A book of the circus
And my favourite clown:
That’s the one I’ll take,
And never put down.

Then back to the library,
And once more to look;
There’s nothing to thrill
Like a new library book!


Note to parents

You can help by:

Help teach your child/children to be responsible for their books, both library and reading material. This can be as simple as having the library book carried back to schoo in a supermarket bag away from yoghurt pottles and drink bottles.

Designate a chair as a ‘reading chair’ so that your family knows that the person on it is reading and needs a little quiet time.

If you would like extra library books to be issued to you as a family, OR if your child is sick and would like a ‘bag of books’ come and see the Library Manager or phone 3488588 extension 33.
